The Maze of the Lost City
The Maze of the Lost City in Sun City is one of the largest permanent mazes in the Southern Hemisphere. By walking through the trail, you lose track of direction and the outside world. This quiets the mind and gives you the opportunity to contemplate important matters in life. This might be why finding your way through the mysterious maze has been compared to finding your way to enlightenment.
You could also choose to walk the maze because there is a bar that serves beers from micro-breweries from across South Africa, but whether you are seeking the path to enlightenment or a way to reward yourself with a beer tasting, walking through the maze is an enjoyable activity that you’ve got to try when you are visiting the North West.
The Hartbeespoort Dam boasts a shoreline of 56km and is surrounded by the Magaliesberg, one of the world’s oldest mountain ranges and is ideal for parasailing adventures, which are sure to give you fantastic views of the mountain ranges and indigenous surrounds.
Speaking of the gorgeous Magaliesberg, why not take a tree top Canopy tour through the mountains and experience the ecology and geology of these ancient formations up close and personal – it’s an experience that won’t disappoint.
Yes, you read that right! At Miracle Waters in the beautiful Magaliesberg mountain range, zip up your wetsuit and plunge into clean spring waters. Apart from the numerous Black Bass and various species of Kruper found in the shallows, there is an array of submerged artefacts to view in its depths, from a computer station to an aeroplane! The water is continually replenished by an underground spring, which is what keeps it so clean and quite warm.
Whatever you like to do on holiday, get on the road that leads you to the North West and experience the rich history and fun-filled activities that this vibrant and diverse area has to offer.
